Japan Probes Cyberattack on Defense Contractor



Japanese authorities are investigating cyber attacks on defense contractor Mitsubishi Heavy Industries that occurred in August, but only found out last week.
Defense Minister Yasuo Ichikawa said he was not aware that any sensitive solution. But he told reporters in Tokyo that Mitsubishi was ordered to review their computer security systems, and that the authorities will continue to monitor the situation.
Mitsubishi makes fighter jets and missile defense systems, submarines and other military equipment. Japanese officials say the defense learned of cyber attacks through the press, and that Mitsubishi should have been told of the violation.
